This book will help you understand how God works within you and transforms you, continually renewing and reshaping your mind to reflect more closely His own. The whole focus of the book is on giving you ideas you can apply immediate in your life, to bring you spiritually closer to the perfect example of our Lord.
Mr. Waldie is frequently called upon in matters of local history and geography in Southern California and generously thanks the people and the grant that helped him finish this manuscript. I find the book a pleasant read, very easy to read, and quite self indulgent. This is okay in that it is literature (I myself would have preferred more history). Rather than chapters there are numbered sections of varying lengths, never as much as a page (total 316). It is centered on his hometown of Lakewood, California, where in the 1950s and 1960s there were decent jobs and affordable housing, good schools, fine weather, civic minded neighbors, etc.
There are no notes, no bibliography, and no index.
Dorothy S. reviewed The Mind of Christ : The Transforming Power of Thinking His Thoughts on
My Sunday School class is studying a reduced version of this book. As teacher, I have benefited from the complete text. Mr. Hunt relates his rich personal experience in pursuit of "renewing" his mind to conform, not to the world, but to the mind of Christ. It has challenged all of us to apply his very practical suggested activities to become wisely Christ-like in our thoughts, values, and reactions.
