I want to do a mini-challenge in July, but I want to do something we haven't already done. Maybe if we all put our heads together, we can come up with some good ideas for future mini-challenges.

Any ideas???

I'm trying to work out the details for a kind of "Treasure Hunt" for us, but it's not coming together very well for me. Still thinking on it though!

Of course, all of our challenges are something any one of us can do, so if you have a great idea, but you want to save it to do yourself, that's cool too. ;-)

Well July is summer many of us take a vacation. How about something about location. How about books in locations you want to travel to some day.  For treasure hunt you could give clues to a location (country, state or continent and have us figure it out and read a book set there).

How about a 'Where in the World Is ... [insert HF buddy here]' challenge, where we have to guess where our buds are based on photos of whatever they are reading in the location they are reading them in? For example, we'd each post photo 1 of our current read with the background showing some clues as to location and based on guesses, either someone wins or if no one guesses in a certain amount of time, reader posts another picture w/ a more obvious clue?  something along those lines...

Both of these are great ideas! I'm going to continue thinking on it.

Colleen, it's good to see you back! You've been MIA for a while it seems like. ;-)

There are two threads "Top 5 Books I've Read in 2009" and "Top Ten All-Time Favorite HF".    My suggestion is to draw our mini-challenge from those lists (or another list - I just used those as an example) and choose books that we may not have read that someone else really liked.

I like the idea of reading a book about a location that I want to visit. That is my vote.

#2 choice--read a book from the Top 5 or Top 10 or related.

Good idea,

Mary

Amerigo, that is a great idea! I know I have jotted down titles from those lists; a challenge would be a great chance to read them. I could just do random drawings for my prizes if I can't think of a way to generate a real "winner" and some runner-uppers.

I'm putting all of the ideas in my excel catalog, so I can keep them for later use. We really do need some mini-challenges again, they are fun!

I really like Amerigo's idea.  There are so many great books that I haven't read that I'd like go for this one.  I'm still waiting for one of my books for the mini mystery challenge.

Does one have to actually participate in the mini-challenge to win a prize -- or can I just submit my name and address for the random drawing?

Deb, Deb, Deb. *shakes head* Sometimes, I think you are just CRAVING the wet noodle.

Attention, ladies, I don't mean to alarm anyone, but I'm afraid we may have a pervert in our midst.

I liked the mini challenge where you gave clues and we had to guess the character.  Linda & Kelly did one that I liked (probably because I won) but I don't remember what exactly it was.

Okay, I have planned out the July mini-challenge. We are actually going to have a month of mini-challenges with a new activity planned for each week. I think you will all enjoy it! I'll make a new post on July 1st.

Jeanne, I meant it because of the craving of the wet noodle thing, but now that you mention it, we might all be a little odd because we are craving more challenges when we already have so many. Yep, there is something wrong with all of us, lol.

I do think I need a new threat though. I don't believe any of you are sufficiently afraid of the wet noodle anymore.

Hey, could we have a hint about the challenge? Do not make us wait until July 1.  I love challenges when I am interested. AND I am interested.

Mary

I will tell you that there will be no reading done for this mini-challenge, but you will have to use your brains. ;-)

Well, now, thanks to Jeanne, everyone knows the challenge couldn't possibly be that difficult. LOL!

Genie, I only have the one brain and it only works part-time.
