I read this book for our Mother Daughter Book Club. Usually I find the books are much better than the movies, not in this case. The book read just like the movie, which figures since it was written after either the screenplay or the movie. I'd rather invest time in watching the movie.
You've all seen the movie: probably several times. But, how many have read the story behind it? Here it is, and it's better than any movie could ever be. No flat, shallow characters of the old movies with their stilted, emoted speech and exaggerated actions: merely heartwarming. This is a great read no matter the season. Believe!
