I just finished this one and really liked it. I'd say if you liked "The Stolen Child" by Keith Donahue, you'll also like this one.

I've found that I enjoy the fantasy type books like these. What other books in this genre might I like? Do you have any suggestions?

Try 'The book of Lost Thins' by John Connolly. Very good book. :)

Good question Ginger, I enjoyed both of those books.  Also along that line I have enjoyed The Fifth Child and Don't Breathe a Word.

I have The Book of Lost Things in my TBR, I need to move it up!

I read this one on the recommendation of my sister and I enjoyed it.  I haven't read any of the other's y'all are referring to, so I guess I'll go check 'em out and see if they sound like likely candidates for my TBR (that thing just keeps growing and growing and growing).  LOL!

Thanks! I've actually read The Book of Lost Things and loved it! Good suggestion. That's the exact kind of books I enjoy!

I have Don't Breathe a Word on my TBR shelf, I may move it closer to the top of the pile. I'm going to look up The Fifth Child now. :-)

All the books we have mentioned are odd ones that I really enjoyed, and actually have them all on my keeper shelf, but they are also books that I am resistant to recommend to people because I am worried that they might be too odd for some people, you know?  But that is what I love about connecting with people here on PBS.  Personally I am impressed by a book if :

1) I enjoyed while I was reading it;      and

2) if it had a story line that stayed with me long after I finished the book.

Loved it!  I heard he has a sequel set to debut June 2013!  All the pictures in the book were actual vinyage photos!  He has a nonfiction book coming out in Oct 2012 (talking pictures) featuring strange vintage photos.

I also loved this book, passed it on to my oldest daughter who also loved it! It had a great twist that took me by surprise, which I love in books. I havent read any of the others suggested, I will have to look for them.
