Okay I have tried to figure this out on my own but I can't! Why do people write book 'reviews' that are the actual descriptions from the back of the book/inside front cover /whatever? Isn't a book review supposed to be your own 'personal' thoughts on the content of the book? Why copy what's already written for people to see?

I just don't get it!

I think that those folks have just not figured out the edit book data feature. Or are too impatient to wait for the volunteers to update the book page.

But book reviews do have the bonus of putting your name (and bookshelf) on the front opening page.

Sometimes those copied reviews were posted before the information was available on the book information page.  For various reasons, A large number of them are blank.

Then we should put the book summary in the edit book data fields.  That is how the empty pages get data added.  Not the reviews.

The site used to not have data edit abilities and the only way to add the information for other members to see was via a review.

When you run across these entries, you can help get it in the right place by copying it, then going into edit data under the other options and copying it into the description field. If you have a few minutes, finding and filling in any other missing data is very helpful too. Once you've done that, you can go give the description "review" a thumbs down and those will eventually move to the bottom and disappear.
