Another brilliant book in the Chrestomanci series. This volume contains four short stories. The first is about the Willing Warlock (who we first met in 'Charmed Life) after he gets stuck in another world, too similar to ours for his comfort. He gets himself into quite a bit of trouble, and eventually gets himself stuck with an extremely bossy duo, a girl and her dog. The story is very funny and the other stories are just as good, covering a variety of characters.

Diana Wynne Jones is an amazing author, and this is just one more example!

Contains Warlock at the Wheel (where the Willing Warlock loses his magic and moves to a parallel world with unexpected results such as driving and dogsitting), Stealer of Souls (where an old enemy of Chrestomanci has to deal with Cat, the Chrestomanci-in-training), Carol Oneir's Hundredth Dream (where Carol is counseled by Chrestomanci when her famous and well-marketed dreams stop occurring), and the Sage of Theare (where Chrestomanci helps out the Sage of Dissolution). Fun stories to continue the adventures of the Chrestomancis after Charmed Life, The Lives of Christopher Chant, The Magicians of Caprona, and Witch Week.
