I finished Moloka'i a couple of night ago and had to just make others aware of it if they weren't already. It's fabulous I tell ya! Set in Hawai'i in the late 1800's and 1900's, it's about the outbreak of leprosy the people of Hawai'i endured and how the infected were exiled away to a separate island to live, away from non-infected family/friends (told through one girl's life story).

I really couldn't put it down!

I ordered it once, and it was declared lost. I need to get back on the wish list.

I agree.  It was a 5* book all the way through.

One of my favorite books.  Really gave me some great insight on events I didn't know much about, like the annexation of Hawaii, the leper colonies on Moloka'i.  It was wonderful.  Such a strong female lead character, written by a man!

This is on my TBR (in the stack of "I want to read this soon")  I loved Honolulu, so I'm looking forward to Moloka'i.

I finished this over the weekend, it was so good!  I may have to share with a few friends before I think about posting on PBS, this one maybe a keeper.

I'm glad you loved it, too, Margaret! :) I borrowed it from the library but loved it so much I ordered it as soon as I was #1 on the WL for it as a keeper! :)
