This is an excellent book if you like mysteries and don't know what to read next. The stories and authors are the cream of the crop for mystery genre. It's a good introduction to authors you may not have thought of.

Not only does "A Moment on the Edge of Crime Stories..." span time but also brings forth the evolution of crime mystery writing through the eyes of women writers and their approach to the field dominated by male writers, and they did the genre a great service by breaking taboo's that had regulated women to look elsewhere. These 'gate-openers' brought fresh air to the telling of crime stories from a woman's perspective that has enriched and broadened a once narrow, male dominated genre.A contribution we all enjoy today.
