How is "Money Saved" listed on the main "My Account" window right after "Books Posted" determined?

"Based on a used book price of $4.50"

So it's $4.50 x the number of books you've received in your time as a member.

That number does not really mean anything to me.  Some books are worth more; some may be worth less.

I don't know what exactly they use for the formula...but it's a joke. I'm pretty sure I have NOT saved $7,213.00 in reality. That may be based on the $4.50 average cost of a used book (which is also a joke) but they also don't subtract the average cost of postage to send a book a get a credit, I don't think. I ignore it--or when I happen to notice the amount, laugh my arse off. :D

That's pretty much me too.  Simply because without PBS, there is no way I would have spent that much money on book at a UBS.  I would have just stuck with the library... complete free!
