So I read half of The Chief and gave up, just couldn't like it. I have a bunch of her other books, are they all like that or should I give them a shot? eta: whoops spell check is my friend lol Last Edited on: 1/2/11 5:36 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

I haven't read The Chief so I can't say how it compares. But I liked her McCloud and Campbell books. |

I gave up on The Chief too, but i figured it was just me. I usually dont care for historicals i just wanted to give it a try because so many others loved it. |

In my opinion McCarty is "almost" good. I've read pretty much all of her books and while they are decent, they all seem to lack that extra oomph that makes a book remarkable in a good way,. Her latest series I have tried to read and wasn't impressed with them. |

It just goes to show that "one man's trash is another man's treasure." I loved The Chief and have The Hawk in the TBR mountain, and will get The Ranger probably this week. |

Ashely - I've found her previous 2 series to be a bit better reading material than this Highland Guard one...I've read the Chief and The Hawk - found them good reads but not as enjoyable as her earlier stuff. |

Thanks everyone. It's so hard to decide what books are worth reading. With a tbr over 1000 it can become very stressful lol |
