I find the Moon Travel books most helpful and easy to follow. Used this one on a trip to Ashville NC. Had a really informative section on the Grove Park Inn in Asheville.

I love the Moon travel books. Not only do they give you facts and reviews, they also give you history of the state. They tell yu about the climate, the flora and fauna,the early inhabitants, the history of the state, the states role in the Revolutionary and Civil Wars, Politics and lots more.
