Amazing book, such a care-free story line. I am not sure I would have the guts to marry someone based on an add and move accross the united states. This story has it all, humor, love, growing, understanding, and learning who one really is at the end of the day.

This was a very sweet story. I like Debbie Macomber books as they are not "trashy" but have some sweet romance parts. They don't go into great detail. Goood story. All her books are excellent I think.

I enjoyed this book, although I found it bit more "cookie-cutter" and predictable than her other books. It read more like just a typical romance novel; very quick read. The storyline kept my interest and I recommend it for romance-novel-lovers.

A very sweet, enjoyable love story. I liked the characters - especially the children. The sex scenes are a bit more descriptive than Macomber's current books, but I think they are appropriate for the characters and storyline.

I usually read books about librarians, hoping someday to find one that doesn't stick to the stereotype of a dowdy, shy, unremarkable woman. This one isn't it! But it is a good story, reminiscent of the children's book, "Sarah, Plain and Tall." And this one is definitely for adults.

One of the better ones by Macomber. She is not my favorite but once in a while she writes a gem of a novel. That's why I seem to keep reading her even though I trash half the stuff she writes.

This was quite a sweet, fun novel. It was a silly premise but such an easy read. The characters were great and there were some interesting dialogue. I have always thought dialogue was one of Macomber's weak points so it was a pleasant surprise. Yes, it's predictable but it's a fluffy romance so you can't expect much. I'm also not sure that a wife would be any cheaper than a housekeeper.

Macomber usually writes very PG love scenes but this one was more like an R rating. It's not smutty or kinky, just a little more description of the deed. It was on the tame, tasteful side.

There were a few complaints I have. Macomber continues to recycle the same characters but just slaps a different name on them which was very disappointing. Another one was that she doesn't explain why Mary who was so mousy suddenly becomes a whole different person in Montana. So if you were to take this novel seriously, there are some serious character inconsistency. But again, it's a fluff romance so you have to lower your expectations.

Overall, it was a good read if you are for some brainless fun.

Another Debbie Macomber heartwarmer about a librarian in Louisiana who answers an ad placed by a Montana rancher for a bride. Seems his brother and sister-in-law left him with their three little children to raise - and well, you can guess the rest. But Macomber has a wonderful way with characters and the inevitable remains fresh. Highly recommended.

Great story, as usual Debbie Macomber comes thru. Travis Thompson, a rancher who has never been married is raising his three orphan children and isn't doing so great, so they decide to advertise for a wife. Mary Warner, a shy spinster librarian answers their ad and finds the life she is missing. Good story and wonderful characters.
Very quick read!

Dear Mr. Travis Thompson,

I am responging to your advertisement for a wife. My name is Mary Warner, and I am a librarion in Petite, Lousisiana. I do sing, sew and cook very well, but I suspect that I am most needed in the lives of those three little ones left in your care.
I understand that you are neither looking for nor expecting to find true love, and given that I've gone so long without it, neither am I. In fact, though I blush to admit it, I know very little of men. So you needn't worry about any untoward advances or unforgettable nights of passion.
It is my sole hope that together we might be able to comfort the children and each other so that the light of caring, if not of love, might shine through the long, dark, cold Montana nights.
Looking forward to your reply, I remain,

Mary Warner

I wanted a lighthearted read, and while I got this from this book, mostly, I was disappointed in the language and all the sexual details. I'm not a prude! I know what kinds of books to find these kinds of details, and I was surprised to find them in Debbie's book. Granted, this took place 25 years ago, I can't imagine someone moving across the country these days.
I can't believe that two people can be thrust to gether so quickly and learn to get along in such a short period of time.
I will have to say, the ending was satisfactory.
