I love getting in on the ground floor of a new series. This book was soo awesome. I read it in one night and could not put it down. This book has YA romance, paranormal and a mystery all rolled up in one.
Riley and Hayden were amazing characters. Riley is a grim reaper and helps ghosts go into the light. As I had just read an adult book with a grim reaper in it, I was able to look at both of these books and really could not decide which one was better. Riley's character was pretty spunky and I love that she didn't let people walk all over her. Hayden was a dream guy and I can't wait to see what comes of this romance. There was a pretty neat twist at the end that I saw coming about midway through the book but I bet a lot of people will be surprised by it. This was a fun read and I can't wait to read the next books coming out.

This is the first book in the Mortician's Daughter series. The second book in this series, Two Feet Under, is expected to release in October of 2018. I enjoyed this book quite a bit. The premise isn't all that unique, but it is well written and I enjoyed the characters and thought the story was engaging.

Riley Smith can see ghosts and helps them solve their unfinished business. Her dad is a mortician and sometimes the ghosts follow him home from work. Riley's life gets complicated when two things happen: a young blond women who has been brutally beaten desperately wants Riley's help and Hayden shows up...he is different from other ghosts Riley has seen and wants her company. In addition to this Riley is struggling with how to deal with her dad's increasing drinking.

While this book wasn't all that unique I still enjoyed it. The characters were excellent, the mystery was well done, and I enjoyed the premise. This book was an engaging and easy read that was tough to put down; it pretty much read itself.

Overall I really enjoyed this book and plan on continuing the series. I would recommend to those who enjoy paranormal YA featuring ghosts.
