From Moses To The Messiah Author:Ben David "...the word TERUMA which means 'offering' has the same Hebrew letters as the word TORAH plus a letter (Mem) which has the numerical value of 40. This is because the greatest offering was the giving of the Torah by G-d to Moses (represented by the letter (Mem)) at Mount Sinai during the 40 years that the Children of Israel sojourned in the dese... more »rt. In a prophetical Messianic perspective we can learn that this great offering represented by letter (Mem) also represents the Messiah who is the living Word..."
"Half (MACHATZIT)" which means 'from a half' refering in our verse to the half shekel. The letter Mem in this word implies Messiah, the letter TZADEE implies charity, and the letter Tav implies prayer and repentance or return. The letters that are left are the Chet and the Yud which spell 'Life (Chai)'. so here we have that 'Half' is an acronym that stands for: 'The Messiah, charity, prayer and repentance are life'. Now if we take out from this word the Tzadee of Tzedakah (Charity and Righteousness) and the Chai which is the Hebrew word for 'life' then we are left with Met which is the word for death. Since Proverbs 10:2 tells us that charity is life then if we take out charity, which is represented by the letter Tzadee, and the Chai of life from the word Half, then we are obviously left with death which in Hebrew is Met.
In his unique, moral and clear approach Ben David brings together the teachings and insights of the Jewish Sages on the Five Books of Moses that have been handed down from generation to generation throughout the centuries and the teachings of Yeshua of Nazareth and his followers as written in the New Testament. This book definitely fills a void regarding the study of the Old Testament. It is a must for every serious student of the Bible.« less
