Interesting portrayal of the importance of women in the south during the time of depression.

This is a fascinating government study of tenant farmers in the 1930s. I found it a valuable resource for me in my living history activities at Florida's Dudley Farm Historic State Park, a 19th-20th century homestead in north central Florida. As such, I'll be turning it over to the staff there as a resource for the rangers and other volunteers.

The description of the lives of the families should be read to children and teenagers. They have no idea what life was like back then, and, once they do, will (hopefully) be eternally grateful for what they have now.
