I just posted a bunch of older romance novels from yea years ago and I would like to have those books on a seperate bookshelf "2 for 1". Is there a way to move/add them without having to add them one by one to the "2 for 1" bookshelf? I don't want to say I have 2 of the same book when I only have one.

Also my question is: several books of mine are old library books. Some have the library sticker on the front, stamped inside and have black marker on the pages when the book is closed. Is this okay? I don't want to risk peeling stickers off and ripping the cover.

Jeepster...PBS only allows one bookshelf per person. Leave the books right where they are. You can advertise that you have a sale on your shelf in the "Bazaar" forum, but they books still stay on your shelf. This allows a person to order one the normal way (for 1 credit) and you mail the second one for free.

Library books are fine just they way they are. You only have a problem if someone orders them and has a personal note attached to their order saying they don't want ex-library books.

I'm sorry, I guess I meant "list" instead of "bookshelf".  I don't want all the books that I've posted to be discounted, just a select that aren't really worth 1 credit.

Thank you for your reply.

Jeepster,

You can make a booklist and list those books you're offering there.  If you go to the My Account Menu -- My Lists -- Book Lists -- My Book Lists, you will find instructions on how to create a booklist.

Unfortunately, I think the answer to this is "no."  The only way I know to make a book list is one book at a time.

You can also make a Tag list. Adding a specific Tag to every book you wish to offer. While I dislike the clutter of Tags, there are advantages to Tag lists over Book lists, such as searching and sorting.

In addition, you can place Tags on the books from your bookshelf rather than the book detail page.

NOPE! Tags are not meant to be personal, meant to apply to all books of that title.

It's perfectly ok to use a tag for this. Just make sure the the tag is personalized in some way. It's not ok to just put a 2 for 1 tag. But you can put "Jeepster 2 for 1" and that's fine. Other members shoujld be smart enough to know that it doesn't necessarily apply to the copy they are ordering from FIFO. And if they're like me, they don't even really notice the tags on books anyway.  Remove the tag when a book is requested.

Personal tags that aren't acceptable are just general ones like "unpostable" or "no dust jacket" or something like that.  But you can use tags for pesonal things. A tag like "lent to Aunt Barbara" is fine.  Someone requesting the book is not going to think "I can't request that book because someone's Aunt Barbara has it".  But the "unpostable" or "no dust jacket" shouldn't be done becuase someone might think that it applies to the copy they are requesting.  You need to personalize it with something like your nickname or initials or something.

A lot of members will just post the list of books on their shelf that are part of the deal in their book bazaar post. Then delete them as they are requested.

One thing you cannot do with tags is to use a tag and then think everyone will see it.  Don't tag your books "no dust jacket" and then accept a no dust jacket RC thinking they saw the tag and requested it anyway.  (sub "no dust jacket" with "smoking home", "stained", "writing" or whatever). But creating a personalized tag for a deal and then linking to the tag is allowed.
