This book is a children's book, but it is so good.
Mr. Putter is a lonley elderly man. He want a companion to share tea and opera with.
He goes to a pet store but the kittens are so bouncy and rambunctious they just won't do for him.
He ends up at a shelter where the cats are grown and days are numbered.
He looks over the kitties and some are too fat, some ignore him, but one stands out. She has thinning hair and her bones creak. Mr. Putter has thinning hair and his bones creak!
She is perfect.
Tabby come home with Mr. Putter and the love affair begins. They trim roses, pour tea, listen to opera real loud and read books together.
One picture is so good. It shows Mr. Putter and tabby on the porch side by side looking out over the yard. It made me cry.
My son loves this book, and he is now a teen and i still see him reading it from time to time.
The illustrations are top notch and the story is excellant.
You just wish you could meet Mr. Putter and Tabby in their garden one spring morning.
