Is anyone a fan of Emily Brightwell's Mrs. Jeffries mysteries? I have had 8 of them on my wishlist since August- so, tell me, are they "keepers" for everyone, or were they published in only small batches???  Usually older mysteries seem to come up on my wishlist fairly quickly, these have been pokey slow!

I've read some of these mysteries.  Quite a few of her's are on the club wishlist.  I've had quite a bit of luck finding them at used bookstores.  I hope you find them.  They're lots of fun to read.  Good luck!

I love Mrs. Jeffries as well.  I've done some research on some of these books, and there are several written in the 90's that are hard to find for some reason.  They're listed for astronomical prices in some places.  Half.com has a few listed for over $100.00!  For a paperback.  I've checked e-bay, Amazon, Borders, and Barnes & Noble, the best price I could find for one of them was $8.95 - most listed for over $20.00.  They certainly seem to be hard to find, but I cannot imagine paying these prices for them.  Hopefully a few of us will be able to find some at yard sales, flea markets, etc. and get some of them in circulation.

I've read about 5 or 6 of them and I really enjoyed them.  I have received 2 here (got them in a 2 for 1 deal in the BB) and the rest I purchased from the store.  I intend to, someday, figure out which one's I've read, and go ahead and get the rest, but I've got so many books on my tbr pile right now, that I just haven't done it yet.

I just can't figure out WHY they cost so much used- like I said, I am wondering if theyw ere published in small batches, or, if they are "keepers" for their readers... Yeah, I have seen them for 100.00, too!

I emailed Emily Brightwell and asked if there was any hope of a second anthology of books 4,5 and 6 as they had done with the first three in the series. I will post if she responds. :-)

I am also a fan of the Mrs. Jeffries mysteries. I was fortunate enough to receive quite a few from this site - passed on - and the others I obtained from the Inter Library Loan. Because I know I'll probably wait what seems forever for her newest book, I'll order it from ILL once the book has had an opportunity to be in several libraries. If your library participates in this service, most do, ILL will probably be your best bet for gettijng the books you need. Otherwise, she is VERY difficult to find. I volunteer at a Friends of the Library store and we NEVER get her books! Hope this helps.    M'ann

I had also been thinking about Inter Library Loan.  I'm sending you a PM Margaretann.

Several of them seem to have been reprinted. I know I've run across them in the used bookstore I go to in the past few months and before that I rarely saw them. Really odd how some are re-issued and some not.
