Oh, my goodness! This woman is unreal - and I mean that in the worst possible way! The world is not a better place for this woman having been born. Nevertheless, a fascinating, can't-put-down book. I was morbidly interested in such a worthless life.

A somewhat negative view of the Kennedy clan, and Ethel Kennedy in particular. The author unmasks the woman behind the headlines and brings out the tragedy and great priviledge that Ethal Skakel Kennedy lived through. Filled with personal anecdotes set against the broader canvas of historical events, this is not a flattering portrait of any of the Kennedy clan members and it paints Ethel as a rather cold, calculating and very dysfunctional individual.

The book is well written and interesting, full of behind-the-scenes information about the lives of Bobby Kennedy and his wife and children. I came away from it with an entirely different view of Ethel Kennedy who, despite her faults, was a generally positive force in the US during her husband's time in office. I'd like to contrast it to another biography of this interesting woman just to see how it contrasts with a different viewpoint of the family, if there is one.
