This was a fantastic book. I have never been a fan of Anne Rice espically not her Vampire series but this book was great. I really wish that she would have made it a series.

Absolutely one of Anne Rice's best. This book has a little bit of everything for everyone; romance, suspense, historical. I read it in less than a week and then read it again a few months later.

Great story....I read it in 1987 and read it again a few more times in later years. Still waiting for the sequel.
Not a true lover of Anne Rice but this is one great read. A real page turner and lots of fun.
Another entertaining Rice novel. Reads as if it were written to become a movie script.
