I've enjoyed other books by this author, but couldn't get past the second chapter of this one.

Kate and her husband attend a meeting for group of people having trouble with deer getting mangled in their gardens. A member of the group is murdered and of course in true Jessica Fletcher style Kate is called in to investigate (her business must be doing well if she can take off on these little adventures all the time). Kate isn't the only one at the meeting a journalist called Byrne also attends he also finds out that Kate has secretly married her lover gallery owner Caruso, on top of that she is being targeted by an animal rights group for attending a meeting which they believe was about killing the deer.
