My son has Asperger's Syndrome which is a form of Autism. He loves Nascar, Jets, and other aviation --and I really want him to read NONFICTION since he believes everything he hears and reads.

Are there any deals out there for Nascar/Jets books? My son is 12 and would love to get a book in the mail.  His reading level for these types of media is ADULT.

Please PM me if you can help.  Thank you in advance!!  :)   dawn

**Thank you to those who have helped already. I have a book on the way and working on another deal!

I have a book called STOCK CAR LEGENDS: The laughs, Practical Jokes, and fun stories from racing's greats.
I will do a deal for you if you see anything else on my shelf. Maybe a 3 or 4 for 1 with this book included. I am really trying to move some books out.

I have The Driving Force some of the top nascar racers share about their faith and how it has influenced their racing careers.  It's not a heavy read and could fit into a 9-12 age range.  Has a bunch of pictures in it too.

I'm always up for deals on my shelf.

OMG Dawn, I didn't think I would ever find another person on the spectrum who loved NASCAR like my daughter does? I wish I could get her to part with some of her NASCAR books. I swear she has at least 50 or more and hundreds of magazines which she refuses to part with. She will not miss a race or NASCAR show. She loves Trackside when DW is on and she loves his Boogity Boogity Boogity when he commentates. My daughter is 29 with High Functioning Autism. Who is your sons favorite driver?

My son (PDD-NOS) is only 3 1/2, and hasn't yet developed a love of books aside from flipping through the pages to stare at the numbers...but I LOVE it that I've discovered so many other "Rainmom's" (as we call ourselves at my support group) who are PBS members!!!  It's nice knowing that I'm not alone, no matter where I am...

Hugs...

I know the feeling Tracey. When my daughter was diagnosed in the 80's, I couldn't find many parents that had children on the spectrum. I couldn't even find a book about it. I can't believe how many people have been diagnosed with autism in the last 10 years or so.

Yes, it's amazing how many kids are now being diagnosed.  Can you imagine how many people are grown up and wondering why they are in "la la land" and always losing their keys?!!  (ding ding ding)!  Some days I think "I" have ASperger's but I'm just a klutz and airhead.  LOL

My son's favorite driver is probably Dale Jr. right now. He changes his mind every month or so.

I'm bumping this thread to see if there are any new listings out there.

My son also loves AVIATION if you have anything with jets/planes lying around.  Just PM me with what you have... my son can probably tell you all there is to know on about 87%-92% of all jets -- it amazes me!!

Thank you!  :)

no books for you but just wanted to say I have an Autistic son too. He is almost 8, developmentally delayed & is mostly nonverbal but can read quite well. His love is Veggietales & the Disney movie CARs. I also have an Aspergers son who is 10yo & totally into Legos. If I could just get him into books it would be so nice. Books dont hurt you if you step on one in the dark with bare feet. LOL

my husband did find one he was going to post. Not sure if its anything you are looking for or not though. It is called Strategy & Tactics of Air Warfare by John Pimlott.  ISBN is 0856855065 if you want to look it up & see what you think of it.

If I dont answer here PM me. Sometimes I forget to check back here, especially if a post has rolled to the 2nd page.
