I'm so tired of being a slave to the next book in all the series I've been reading.  Don't get me wrong - I love them all and I continue to wait for the next one in the many various series out there but help me out here please.

Does anyone have suggestions on Paranormal romances that are not series?  I don't even want a character mentioned in a book I'm reading that was previously mentioned in a book written by the author.  I just want to read a great book and not give in to my obsession that I now have to get all the other books before I can read the one I have.

Ya know what I mean?

How about "Sunshine" by Robin McKinley?  It's not really a Romance, but its a great Paranormal and no series (though I wish she'd write a sequel).  Other than that yikes!  I just had a look at my shelf, all series books.  I think I'd even take a trilogy (that's not Nora Roberts), because that at least would be a set finite amount.

Well, since I picked it as my favorite book of the year, I might as well mention Yarrow by Charles de Lint.  It is not a romance, though there is a small romantic element.

Kassandra Sims.  She has 3 books and all are stand alone.

I actually liked Lair of the Lion by Christine Feehan.

Erin McCarthy's My Immortal & Fallen can stand alone. I really enjoyed both!
