NPR is doing a series called Crime in the City in which they interview authors of mystery/thrillers to find out about what inspires them to write their gritty tales. They are really fascinating to listen to! This morning was Mark Billingham.

Oooh, thanks for the heads up!  I don't have much opportunity to listen to NPR anymore but I'll check this out.

My husband and I are avid NPR listeners but I haven't been listening much lately because I have a good audiobook going in the car :-)

Thanks for letting me know about it.

You're welcome! I've definitely added a couple of authors to my "check them out" list thanks to this series. :)

I have only a 10-minute commute (if you can call it that!) to work, so I rarely even turn the radio on. Sounds like a neat series, though. I love Mark BIllingham's books, so will have to listen in and see who else they're interviewing.
