I need thoughts on this. I'm a teacher and I have a huge classroom library. I weed through the library every year. I'd love to put these book out on PBS. They are in great shape BUT they have my name on the edge. I put it there, so if they are left around the school I can get them back. Can I post a book like that??????? I'm assuming somewhere when I post a book I can note that (I've never looked becasue I've never had to). Thanks!!!! |

Writing on the outside of the book, no matter where, is acceptable. It simply can't be on the text pages. |

Fom the Help Center (you can see all the conditions for posting books by searching the Help docs for "swapability"):
Since the books have been circulated through kids' hands, I'd make sure to page through them looking for any stains or liquid damage since no amount of that is postable. |

It would annoy the heck out of me to get a book with your name written like that. |

Maybe you should consider an RC Barbara, because the books are postable. |

Yes, the book is postable. No, there is no place to note a condition when you post a book. It is either postable according to the rules or it isn't. |

When I left the classroom, I dismantled my own library collection and swapped a number of books just like that--my name was written on the top edge of the book. They are postable, and if a receiver doesn't want them, they need to have an RC that says so. Like Melanie suggested, make sure to check them thoroughly as kids occasionally do crazy things to books. |
