I'm just getting ready to start this one. I've not met anyone who has read this book, let alone heard of it...so I was wondering if anyone on here has read it and what their thoughts were. I just finished reading the horrible Jane Austen Book Club so I'm hoping this one is really good. :)

I have read three of Emile Zola's books, and though I want to read them all I keep getting distracted with others before I do so.  But one of those books was Nana, and I found it very memorable and entertaining.  I'd like to hear how you like it.

I went through a Zola phase in college - though the only one I really remember at this distance (10+ years!) was Germinal. But overall, he's easily readable. I'd like to read more of his eventually.
