Some of us over on the Christian Fiction forum have been judges for the National Reader's Choice Awards for the last couple of years.  If you are selected as a judge, you get four FREE books near the end of January and have until April 1 to read them and turn in a simple judging form.  The books are all released in 2012 and sometimes they come signed by the author.  The committee sponsoring the awards is looking for 20 people willing to judge the CONTEMPORARY SINGLE TITLE ROMANCE category, defined as: "Romance novels that focus primarily on the romantic relationship, released as individual titles, not as part of a series."   If you are interested in being a judge, you can find out more about the awards here and fill out the judge sign up form here  Note that the sign up form requires you to rank all of the categories in order of your preference, but they are specifically looking for Contemporary Single Title Romance judges, so if you put that as your first choice, you should get it. Here is what the organizer told me about the books in this category: "They're all pretty much full length--over 65,000 words. Some of the authors who have entered are Roxanne St. Claire, Brenda Novak, Julie James, Lori Wilde, Toni Blake, Louisa Edwards, and others."  We always have fun judging the books and after we turn in our paperwork, we reveal which books we had and what we thought of them.   A lot of them have been WL, but Christian Fiction books stay wish-listed a lot longer than Romance does, so I'm not sure how many of these contemporary romances would be WL. Anyway...it's free books and fun!

She filled all the spots, Jodi.  But save the link...it's the same every year.  It opens up in September.
