I don't know that I'd call it a "young adult" book, more for anyone fascinated by raccoons. Author appears to be a non-scientist, that answers any question the layman may have about raccoons. She uses pretty clear writing, occasionally throwing in "crepuscular" and "sarcoptic". Alas, only drawings (that's why J. Sharkey Thomas is listed as an author), and given the variety of species and sub-species, the drawn raccoons tend to look alike.
