Contemporary erotic romance from Lora Leigh, book 5 of the Nauti series. Sheriff Zeke Mayes is busy trying to run his town, and discreetly investigate a home grown terrorist group, that is thought to be destroyed. He's discreet with the women he sees, and never gets seriously involved with them. The one woman he wants, but refuses to admit it is Rogue Walker, bar owner, and supposed town bad girl. But, now Rogue's family members are dying. Rogue was once a school teacher, whose reputation was ruined, by the very organization Zeke is investigating. Can Zeke catch the bad guys, solve the murders, and keep Rogue safe, while keeping his hands off of her? The writing is good, its a nice addition to the series, but I have a few issues: Zeke is supposed to be a big bad dominant, but that doesn't show through. The plot is a little twisted, and sometimes its hard to keep all the names and characters and history straight. And, why in the heat of arguement or passion, do the characters always say, "damn you!" Gets old after awile. The sex scenes are hot, but not as scorching as we come to expect from Lora Leigh. And there's a long build up, before Zeke and Rogue get to it. The book is better than good.

Maybe its just me but I was really dissapointed by Rogue's story. I always thought she was so cool in the previous books. SO in her story when she ends up a hurt simpering VIRGIN, that just didnt do it for me. She had to wait and be rescued in the end and then collapsed in the usual heap of female tears. Sheesh Lora Leigh what a way to destroy a character that you had set up to be really cool.

Steamy read form Leigh, I enjoyed this despite my misgivings with the previous books. I felt the others had the same characters with different names. This Rogue and Zeke's story was good, although I find a lot of these series events to be far fetched for fiction.

Rogue Walker has been infatuated with Zeke Mayes for years. Yearning for him and trying her darndest to hide her reaction to the sexiest sheriff in town. Zeke feels the same way but he has secrets that could get a girl killed so he resists as long as he can. The sexual tension is unbelievable and when they finally get together, they damn near burn the bar down. The sex scenes are smoking hot and sexy Zeke is one hell of a lover. Of course, all good romances have the heroine in some kind of danger and this one is no different. Someone is killing off Walkers (Rogue's people) and Zeke is terrified it is due to his past mistakes.

An excellent addition to the Nauti series and Dawg, Rowdy and Natches Mackay all make an appearance or two. These men are great alpha heroes and Zeke is no different.

Another great book from the best author... I read this book in one night, not only it has the hot sexy stuff but it gave me a better picture of the sheriff in the town and also opened up my heart for Rogue. She might look or sound hard but that's just the outside and I think this is a perfect match. CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE.

LORA LEIGH- YOU'RE THE BEST!!

Couldn't wait to receive this book. Loved it. Would have liked to see a little more of the other three Nauti boys but still a good read. Lora Leigh always delivers the passion, love and other emotions. Had a few editing errors. Overall a great read.
