Wonderful tale of a young native American girl who is captured as a slave and escapes to freedom my crossing hundreds of miles alone just as winter is setting in. It turns out that Sacajewa is her best friend so you get a different perspective of our nations history.

Great read aloud to kids ages 4 and up.
