I don't know about anyone else, but I'm pretty stoked about the release of Sanderson's Warbreaker this coming Tuesday.  I've read the first couple of chapters of the online version of it and it is very interesting.  I don't like reading on a computer much, so I've been waiting for this book for a while so I can read the rest of it.

Sanderson is becoming one of my favorites lately.  Anyone else a Sanderson fan?

Honestly, I tried to read the first Mistborn book and couldn't get through it.  It just didn't hold my interest.  I've heard that Brandon's books tend to drag a bit at the front and pick up pace a lot in the 2nd half, so I'm going to give it another try.  Once I get through those 3, then I will probably read Warbreaker.  I'm trying very hard to like him since he is finishing the WOT books and that is my all time favorite series!

I will definitely read Warbreaker at some point.  I have read Elantris and Mistborn, and preferred Elantris a bit more.  I liked Mistborn, but I'm not sure how I feel about continuing the series.

Personally, I've both Elantris and the Mistborn trilogy. I felt that the Mistborn story was a much better, more developed story. Warbreaker should be fun to read. I've been tempted many times to read the drafts Sanderson posted online, but I felt that I'd be better off waiting til I could get the finished product. I had forgotten that Warbreaker was being released this week. Thanks for the reminder! :-)

Well, I ordered the first 2 Mistborn books from a used site so that I can give them another try.  I have Elantris on my WL so hopefully I can get that to read eventually as well.

I got the Warbreaker book a few months ago as an ARC to review...I'm ashamed to say I still haven't gotten to it! But my son did read it and really liked it a lot. I have all 3 Mistborn books here AND Elantris and haven't read them either. LOL (Yeah...I know.)

Oh, Cheryl.  What have you been doing instead of reading those?  ;)  It couldn't be reading other books, could it?

Edited because I meant to say oh, cheryl; and not ohm cheryl.

Brenda....I'm glad you corrected that ohm...I have no time to meditate, it takes away from my reading time. LOL

I don't have any meditation time either.  In fact, maybe I should have left the ohm, and counted that as my meditation for the year.   :D

I just finished Warbreaker over the weekend, and it was really good.  As usual for Sandreson, he's built a unique and interesting world with a cool magic system.   I can't wait for some more stuff from Sanderson.  Too bad he'll be distracted with Wheel of Time for the next couple of years instead of doing his own stuff.

And Cheryl - get with it already!  ;)  Time to read some Sanderson books!  If you like them as much as I did, you'll kick yourself for not reading them sooner.

PS - I actually met Sanderson a few years ago when Mistborn 1 was released and he's a heckuva nice guy.  This was before he became as famous as he is now, so nobody else was in the book store for his book signing, so we chatted with him for a while.  Very down to earth and approachable.  He seemed very genuinely appreciative that we liked his work.  He was even more flattered and even seemed a bit surprised when my wife told him that she'd picked Elantris for her book club a couple of months prior and the ladies all liked it - even those who had never read fantasy.

I have Elantris now and the first 2 Mistborn in my tbr pile now, so I'll be tackling those soon.
