If anyone wants to add me feel free.  I freaked when I didn't see anyone on this morning!!  My buddy list before mainly comprised of you hf folks.  I like being able to see peoples wl and if I have time to browse their wl I can see what I need to dig out of my tbr pile!

I second Michelle's comments.  I welcome anyone who wants to add me to their buddy list!!  I am not sure why this change has been made though.

I just set my buddy requests to "auto accept." When I checked my e-mail this morning, I had about 8 emails from forum posters wanting to add me!

You can enable or disable this in your privacy settings (go to your settings and look for link to the far right.)

I've never had a problem with anyone wanting to add me to their buddy list, but maybe some people complained or had privacy issues?

I use the buddy list the same way you do, Michelle. It's also a good way to find books to add to my own wish list.

I participate in a Scrapbooking Message board, so about half my Buddy List are those PBSers and the other half are you guys.

Felicia--thank you.  I just set mine to "auto accept" too.

How do you set it to auto-accept?  I'd like to do that, too.

Beverly, you need to access your settings under the "My Account" pulldown menu. Look to the far right of the "Settings" screen to see the link to "Privacy Settings" in the yellow-highlighted text. Click that link and scroll down a bit for the option to enable auto-accept.

There are also options on that page for what other members can view of your profile. (You can choose to hide your city and state, for example.)

Thanks for the tip, Felicia! I thought, "What the heck!" when I saw all those buddy emails. What's PBS thinking?

Well, I just set mine to auto-accept, but when I look at the buddy list, I get a message to convert. So I sent "friend" messages to you all. But I still don't see how I can link through to my buddies now. Ergghhh!

BTW, you are posting too many intriguing books to your shelf. I just ordered two more from you! ;)

LOL Felicia! I "accepted" all the buddy invitations from you guys. Then I set my privacy settings to auto-accept requests. But I still get a conversion message when I try to look at my buddy list.

Ah, I see. The invitation list is something slightly different. After deleting all the names I didn't recognize, I got to my buddy list.

This is probably a privacy settings thingie, but for some of my buddies - Felicia, for example - I can view their buddies. For others - Valli? - I can't. Anybody know?

I added you Tracey. I think I've added everyone who posts here, but I'm afraid I may have missed some. If I did, it wasn't intentional; I screwed up my original buddy list this morning.

Genie, I made my buddy list private. There was no good reason. I marked just about everything as private, but I'll probably make it visible once I figure out exactly what I'm doing and finish getting everything sorted. I'm waiting on all of the inviting and accepting to slow down and then I'm going to re-tag and get organized.

LOL Genie, really I made everything private because I didn't want to screw up and have my phone number shown to the world. You guys would be calling me at all hours of the day and night begging for my books. ;-)

I set mine to auto once I worked out you could do that. The only thing I'm peeved about is all my old tags are gone. I don't know why that couldn't have been carried over, but I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. Everything but my phone # is liste. I belong to so many online groups and local social clubs that I don't feel it's a huge security risk to have my info available here. Everything but my phone #, which is unlisted anyway, but is easily located online anyway if you know where to search.

Welcome, Lisa! Just so you know, your buddy request to me didn't go through. I have my list set up to auto-accept, but it didn't in your case. I'm wondering if you may have submitted too many requests at once and maybe raised a red flag. In any event, I sent an email to the PBS team asking them to look into your request to join my list.

Hi Lisa, welcome from me too.  Like Genie, I have my buddy list set to auto-accept and it didn't in your case for me either.  Maybe there is a glitch in the software.  I was going to email PBS but saw that Genie had already done so.  Love this forum and hope you enjoy it too.
