So far this is the best, and most complete book on Homebrewing i've ever read. Plus the author adds a little bit of humor in with the information to make it an enjoyable read.

This is a hoot! Good recipes too. Unfortuntely doesn't go into detail on lagering and secondary fermentation as much as I'd hoped.

This book is the total instruction book for home brewers. Everything is explained here. Step by step, starting with the most basic, easiest method, you learn about beers and beer making in all its facets and categories. Born from the hippie crafting era, when people shared the old rituals and secrets of the trades, this book preserves the craft as something that can be done at home, as it was for centuries. The pictures are especially helpful. I love this book.

Good book. The photos are super dated, but it is still the great beginners guide to brewing.

Despite having owned a copy of the 3rd edition of The Joy of Homebrewing for years now, I bought this copy as well because there are many great recipes in it that aren't included in the other editions. For example, right now I'm brewing up the Rye Pilsner all-grain, a recipe that's new to me! I would say overall there's about 75% overlap between this edition and mine. Love the jolly cartoon illustrations!

Fantastic advice. If you make beer, you NEED this book. This specific edition has CLASSIC photos and illustrations, too.

Yes, there are newer editions of this book, but beer making hasn't changed. This book has more useful information than the other (newer) brewing book I have.

Whenever I have a brewing question, I grab this book first.

Very useful. Also have a bottle capper I can send to the first person who requests it. ;)
