In terms of the subject matter, this book is a great read. I read this book last year and fairly dreaded the chapters- BUT it is a gold mine for learning more about the interconnectedness of anthropology and the environment. I took a class on environmental anthropology (my first anthro class ever!) and this is what we got. Looking back however, I would liked to have devoted more time and attention to this book. If you are interested in the field of anthropology, this is a great book.
