Please note that I am NOT complaining about the new interface. Not at all.

It just seems that site changes = page load slowdown. I have checked my other favorite websites and they are loading at the 'normal' rate for my computer, so it seems that this is a PBS thing. FOR ME.

However, are there any other members who are experiencing this? And if so, could something be done to fix it?

NOT COMPLAINING!!!!! Let me repeat. NOT COMPLAINING!!!!!

It's not you. The system is being slow today. It is probably due to the recent changes. I am sure it will get worked out shortly.

I hope so.

My bookshelf pageloads have never recovered from the last major change and this has made it much worse. (LOL....still not complainin', just explainin')

Ah, well. Patience is a virtue.

I haven't experienced any problems today, I have had problems in the last few days so maybe it was them getting ready to load the new site

Mine is fine - except that I can't get my BIR page to load at all - it actually crashes my browser when I try.

I think I feel a migraine coming on.

PBS, I CANNOT USE IE. I HAVE TO USE FIREFOX. YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW I HAVE BEEN PREACHING ABOUT FF.

Okay, I believe this could be considered complaining at this point.

ETA all bold and underlining in this post. This is serious, folks.

Some people may have trouble with long loading times because of their internet provider "throttling" their speed.  When some areas have a high incidence of using so much of the available speed or broadband or whatever it's called some of the internet providers will cut down on the amount that you can download...and the people who do a lot of streaming or downloading can tag up all the "room" (so to speak).  I've read on some consumer sites about this.  I have an IP that does this.  So it may not be just this site or the changes.  Also there are 2000+ people on here right now.

their internet provider "throttling" their speed.

Not in this case though.

It works great with the Internet Expletive Browser, but not with my fabulous FireFox browser

Dartha, I'm running Windows XP and use Firefox exclusively.  Hate IE!  The only slowness I've noticed is the homepage loading.  Other than that, everything's as fast as normal.

No problems for me on speed. I'm running Mac OS X Leopard and using Camino browser.

Though, when I post it doesn't show up immediately like it used to.

It gets worse.

Using IE, there are these huge empty spaces at the bottom of everyone's replies. I have this mental condition that requires me to fill empty spaces with SOMETHING.

If I go crazy, it is all PBS' fault.......

I have been using IE for an hour and a half now.

I have a rash. A nerve rash.

It feels like ants crawling all under my skin.

Mine is still pretty slow, especially when logging on.

I',m using the latest IE browser and no problems with pages loading, nor white space after replies, could be the way the browser is configured, Dartha.
