Does everyone like PBS's new look?

I like it okay, but it's just too bright for my eyes. I can't look at it for too long without feeling my eyes starting to hurt. After being on the site more than just a few minutes, I find that I'm squinting my eyes, like you do when looking at the sun, lol. I know I can change the brightness on my pc, but I hate to do that for just one site. I thought about sending in feedback, but there is no sense in doing that if it doesn't bother anyone else. I know I have bad eyes, so maybe it's just me. ;-)

Does it bother anyone else?

You can change the brightness on your computer?  I didn't know that, some others have commented on it in the CMT.

I don't really notice a change in brightness.  Just the layout changes on the main page, which I like.

I like the changes. Some of them make it easier to access certain features - like the single click from your home page to your book orders.

I would like to see more personalization, though. My home page is becoming very busy. I'd like to be able to remove some of the things I don't care about, such as a featured review or new member. I'd also like to be able to move features around, so that my current interest (say fantasy) is at the top while others fall to the bottom.

I don't like that they buried my list of books I'm reading in 2010. It now appears as a post in my bulletin board. It takes 3 clicks to get to it, which isn't all that bad. Just sayin ...

Overall, though, I like the changes.

I like the changes too, but that's good to know about brightness. Thanks.

The home page looks really nice, with lots of neat stuff to look at, but I go straight to my own account page, so I rarely even see the home page.  It doesn't look so blindingly bright on the laptop, but when using the larger and wider screen on my desktop, it seems so, so bright.

On your computers, does it look like they also lightened the blue of the lettering and the yellow color that is in the PBS emblem? Maybe I just need to do some adjusting to my desktop.

Letty, I can adjust the brightness with the buttons that are on my monitor.

I didn't notice any change in color to the PBS logo, but I do think the blue background in the forums (and on the home page) are lighter (and brighter). I'm on a laptop with an anti-glare screen, so this may be muting what I see.

My laptop has the anti-glare screen too, and it doesn't seem too bright at all on it. I might play around with my desktop tomorrow and see if I can make it better.
