Actually, Gabaldon's own website says she announced it incorrectly, the true title is "Written with my Own Heart's Blood".

Now, if she'd just get the thing to the publisher ;-)

I think at this point she could name it Pink Hippo's on the Moon and I would read it.   I am just kind of disgusted that I saw a pub date of 2013  I hope that is the paperback date and not the hardcover date.  She's been hanging out with George R.R. Martin I hear, maybe he rubbed off on her.

Thanks for the clarification Beth.

Echo came out 2 years ago I was really expecting to see the new one by this time or perhaps spring.

Let's hope she gets it to an editor first.

Yep, she came really close in Echo to being added to the PG, Jean Auel list of too big for their britches authors.

Carolyn, Yes The Scottish Prisoner does come out next month,  I just don't like the Lord John books all that much.   I read them but I get them from the library.

I have listened to Echo and I skipped much of the Lord John stuff and I liked it much better that way and doing that changed the plot not at all.

Cathy, I am afraid you might be right.

I dearly hope an editor is looking at it.

As much as I loved the books the first time around (not counting Echo), I think I'd have problems with them if I read them again. I can even see it from reading her blog, she must really like to "hear" herself talk. She goes on and on and on. I finally stopped following it. My eyes kept glazing over.

LOL.  Me, too.  I'm going to read all of Wheel of Time to the very end, and I never liked that series as much as Outlander. Gotta see how it all wraps up.

I've re-read Outlander books 1-4 several times without problems, but I don't go past that because first, I'm burned out on it by then, and second, I KNOW I'll have problems with the other books.  The tangents would be annoying now that I know from hindsight how very little they have to do with anything except DG hearing herself talk, as Cathy put it.  And "bad stuff, good stuff" balance starts going off-kilter about then, too.  As well as "too many POV".

Not sure I am going to bother with any of these any more unless the reviews are sterling. I HATED "Echo".

+1 Just am not into the Lord John series although I have read them....and agree that Echo needed a good editor to cut about 300 pages out of it.....

I barely remember what happened in Echo...although I do remember I absolutely hated the ending....(and this from a person who probably loves Lord John more than Jamie! indecision)

Excerpt from book 8 Spoiler spoiler spoiler.    I am getting excited and I told myself I wouldn't.  SHe has now said pub. date is 2012.  So I am going to guess, a year from now.
