My husband and I each have our own aurthors but we also read books together and we are getting very short on books to read because the new ones aren't coming out fast enough. I'm hoping someone here can help by suggesting an author that might be similar to the ones we read now. We read:

Child, Lee - Jack Reacher; Coulter, Catherine - FBI; Crombie, Deborah - James & Kincaid; Deaver, Jeffery - Lincoln Rymes - Katherine Dancer; Freveletti, Jamie - a new series; Julie Garwood - FBI; George, Elizabeth - not nearly as good as Crombie and way too long-winded; Jance, J. A - Beaumont - Reynolds; Kellerman, Faye - Peter Decker; Patterson, James - Women's Murder Club; Robb, J. D.- Eve Dallas There are probably others I just can't think of right now.

We have read the Eve Duncan series by Iris Johansen and Noah Bishop series by Kay Hooper but stopped reading them - got tired of both of them for different reasons.

Thanks for any help.

Maybe try  The Prey series by John Sandford , Harry Bosch series by Michael Connelly, David Baldacci has couple of series, Mitch Rapp series by Vince Flynn.

Hope this helps

I was going to suggest Nevada Barr as well.  I think her early books are better than any of the last two or three that she has written but that's just me.

If you want something that is a little different, try C.J. Box's Joe Pickett series or Craig Johnson's Walt Longmire series which are both set in Wyoming.  Michael McGarrity's Kevin Kearney series is good too.  You might check out Steve Hamilton and William Kent Krueger...

Thanks for all the suggestions.  I knew we would get some good ones from other PBS members.

We finally thought to use Gnooks and ordered the first Ann Granger. Don't know anything about her but Gnooks placed her close to Crombie and they sounded good.

You might try J A Konrath and his Jack Daniels mysteries. Both my husband and I read Michael Palmer's medical mysterys and Carl Hiiasen's books, they are an absolute hoot and they always involve taking down big, ugly government with a twist of murder and mayhem. We also read Brad Thor's Scott Harvath series and John Lescroart's Dismas Hardy series, luckily none of them have to be read in order. Hope this helps! :-)

Tess & Keri, thanks for your suggestions also. I love PBS because so many people are willing to help out no matter what the problem. We have lots of books to check out now.
