If you put an individual book on hold on your WL, then search your own WL, it won't find the held books.

But if you take them books off hold, then they are found just fine.

Does this seem like a bug to anyone else?

No, not at all. The reason the hold would be there (at least in my mind) is so the system and other folks CAN'T see them because for whatever reason, you aren't ready to receive those books should they come available. If you could see them in a search, so could everyone else. I mean, why have them on hold if you want the system to treat them like the rest of your WL?

I was thinking if I wanted to unhold a book, the best way to find it and click "unhold" would be to search for it.  Not a big deal, but an annoyance.

I guess I didn't think of that. I never search for my wishlisted books...I mean, I have mine sorted alphabetically by title, so generally I can figure out which of the four pages to go to to find any given book, and anything on hold stands out because it's bright pink in color against all the green. My whole wishlist is autorequested except for 2 books on hold--I'm thinking my library is going to cough them up for me in the next week or so, so no point in wasting a credit if I don't need to.

I would have thought it would work like the bookshelf .... you can have "hold" books on your bookshelf, and only you can see them, but when you search your bookshelf yourself, you can still find them in a search. Other people can't, and that's just fine.

I like to keep it sorted by title (because I have some without authors, and you can't see them if you sort by author) ... but often I want to check something like, which books am I wishing for by a certain author, and then I just use search to find them easily. Except, if some of them are on hold, I now can't see them.

The reason I just don't re-sort by author, is because, when authors have middle names, its a total crapshoot as to how it sorts. For example "Lois McMaster Bujold" ... sorts under both "M", on some books, and "B" on some books. And, there is no way for me to fix that because editing the Book Data does not have a field for sorting out names into first / middle / last.

Obviously the database has "Bujold" as the last name on some of the books and "McMaster Bujold" as the last name on other books, but there is no way for us lowly members to fix that (or suggest fixes for that).
