I've read a lot of Lora Leigh. I've read a few Lori Foster books. But they were older ones and it's been a long time since I read one.  (I don't know why I liked her, just never made it back to her).

So yesterday at the grocery store, I was in the book aisle.  I like to look and see what's new even if I'm not buying.  There was a little sign that said if you like Lora Leigh you'll like Lori Foster.  I don't remember her books being anywhere near  LL's.  No erotica type sex scenes or Uber-Alpha males.

been a while since I read any Lori Foster but I only recall a few that wre erotic and not in the same way as Leigh's..some had alpha guys or guys who had to be in control - forgot the danged titles but one had the woman who was 'overweight' (thoughskinny in comparison to me!) and another where the guy liked to have the woman tied up for sex but neither was anything like Leigh.

I hate it when they don't compare authors right and mislead us!

Mary,

I definitely would not call Lori Foster erotica, she is just steamy romance!  I read When You Dare and he was an alpha hero, but wouldn't say he was totally uber alpha. I really liked the book, but I like an alpha male. smiley But if someone was expecting a explicit book, they would be very disappointed!!!

I didn't think so but like I said: I haven't read one of her books in like 4 or 5 yrs.  So I didn't know if she had changed her style.

I suppose it's better than the other way around. Like Melissa said: if they read an LF and thought the sex was just right-an LL might give them a stroke.

I think it was one of the Winston brother's stories where he liked to tie her up. But it was pretty tame bondage.  If I remember right, he ties her arms to the bed post and they do it missionary.  It was no where near kinky.   But like I said, it's been awhile since I read one of hers.

yeh Foster's 'kinky' is still very tame an I still rmember that vibrating butt thing in Leigh's - it was a mmpb and I'd never read her stuff before...what an eye opener!

The first LL book I read was one of the Seal MMP books.  I thought it would be just a hot Romantic Suspense.  There was spanking, butt toys, bondage and anal sex.  I was shocked. Then I went out and bought a bunch of her books!

(I had only read a couple of romance books at that point)
