I think I might have been the one that asked if "toys" could go on airplanes.  I would never take one now. They scan and search too much.

I had the full body scan and body search on my way home from New York. They weren't horrible about it, but it was pretty mortifying. I kep wondering what on earth about me was so suspicious.

Willa,

You don't have to "look suspicious" to be chosen for body scans or searches at the airport.  It's done randomly regardless of "how you look"  I've had both and I'm the most non-suspicious looking person there is!

Last time I flew, I did the body scanner thingy too.  No body search though.

By that time, I didn't really care.  I just wanted to get home.  I didn't even think that I'd gotten in the security line with the body scanner.

I dunno, my husband and I were both scanned which doesn't seem all that random. They didn't search him, though.

I think that if you're wearing loose clothing (we had on sweatshirts and I like mine big) you will get checked. Now we carry our sweatshirts and put them on after we go through the line.

I've done the body scanner the last three times I've flown. Each time I was wearing the same pair of jeans. Each time the same rivet set off the pat down. I'll still fly wearing those jeans, but I'm ready for the patdown now.
