This is the beginning of a great new trilogy. At first the narrators voice just grated with me but as the book continued he toned down the abrasiveness of the kids voices and got into the swing of doing the women's voices. As the guys he narrates perfectly.
Story gets the 4.5 stars. Narration gets a 3 because he did improve as the story went on.

The story is vintage Nora and an easy romance. Strong characters, no deep conflicts; amazing detail (or bore, depending) about renovating a historic inn; great banter among the three brothers. It lays the foundation for the next two books' main characters. I liked the book for an easy read.
Now about the audio narration: it is pretty terrible! Didn't anyone audition this guy? He is alright for the men's voices but cannot do women's voices and is HORRIBLE with the kids' voices. I blame the publisher for putting this out there for sale! Since Beckett's relationship with the 3 little tykes is an important part of his courtship, and really quite funny, the kids' voices needed to be better.
