Has anyone else read anything by Nigel Trantor? He writes great historical fiction about Scottish leaders and Scottish history in general. I absolutely loved his Bruce trilogy and The Black Douglas and have several of his books wish listed. They are a lot harder to find in the US, I bought most of mine in Scotland.

Nigel Tranter  also wrote Westerns and Children's books!

I have some of his books on my TBR, but have not dove in as of yet.

I read The Bruce Trilogy and loved it. I tried the MacGregor trilogy, but I couldn't get into it. It read like a Western to me. I have a few of his books, though. So someday I'll give them a try.

Every once in awhile a lot of Trantor's books come up for auction on eBay.

I have several of his somewhere in my packed boxes, but have not read them yet.  He has several on the Crusades, and that sounded intriguing to me.

I have a couple of them, but haven't gotten to them either.  I have the Bruce trilogy and one other trilogy, but can't remember which one.
