I love a mystery that also makes me laugh and this book did just that. A very enjoyable read. But then I find most books by this author are.

Great story about facing the ghosts of the past only to find that not all ghosts are dead.

A classic Krentz romance! Likeable, well-drawn characters drawn together during the investigation of an old mystery. The supporting characters are entertaining, too.

I really, really liked this book. It wasn't 'in your face, edge of the seat' tense or scary like Patterson or Tananbaum, but ...I don't know, I can't quite put my finger on it, but it did keep me tensed and reading. There was a perfect blending of relationship story and fearful suspense...I liked them and them together so that's what made me afraid of what could happen, I guess. Like a mellow thriller. LOL Anyway, I just remember thinking halfway through "I REALLY like this book".

All of Jayne Ann Krentz's books are fabulous. She has a true gift. However, I didn't find this one to be as riveting as others. Still good but not up to my very high expectations from her.

Whether writing as Amanda Quick, Jayne Castle or Jayne Ann Krentz, this author knows how to mix a sure-to-please readers' cocktail: Take 2 parts suspense, blend in 1 part sex, add a dash of surprises, and garnish with a satisfying conclusion. It's irresistible - after one sip you down it. Or, in the case of All Night Long read it from cover to cover.

I enjoyed this audio very much. Do not judge the book by the cover in this one. It has a few sensual scenes, but this contained a who done it story line. Great book.

I likes the two main characters in the book. They both were not perfect and were not looking for love when they met each other. The ending was good and a liked how the muder was solved.

Story was good. Fast paced and well put together. I liked it more for the suspense than the romance. However, I absolutely hated the narrators. They were bland and almost robotic.

Irene Stenson returns home at the request of an old high school friend, whom she hasn't seen or talked to in seventeen years--since the death of Irene's parents. She arrives to find her friend dead. Was is suicide or murder? Did it have anything to do with her parents' deaths. As Irene investigates, she is joined by Luke Danner, ex-marine and owner of the lodge where she is staying. Irene is still trying to find resolution and closure over her parents' deaths and Luke is trying to find "normal" again after seeing some action in his military career. Instant attraction and common idiosyncrasies make for some interesting sparks.

Another great Krenz book--well developed characters, interesting story line, well-placed humor and just the right amount of romantic sizzle.

From Booklist
Some people have bad memories of their childhood hometowns; Irene Stenson has nightmares. As a teenager, Irene came home late one summer night after being out with her friend Pamela Webb, and discovered that both of her parents had been killed. Irene refused to believe that her father murdered her mother and then committed suicide, and soon afterward left Dunsley. Seventeen years later, Irene, now a journalist, is still haunted by the events of that fateful night, but a cryptic note from Pamela induces her to return home. But before Irene has a chance to meet with her, Pamela dies. When the police rule Pamela's death a suicide, Irene knows intuitively that there is more to the story. With the initially unwanted but soon very much welcomed help of sexy Luke Danner, an ex-marine and the owner of the lodge where Irene is staying, Irene begins her own unofficial investigation into Pamela's death only to discover that someone in Dunsley is keeping secrets that could prove to be deadly. Best-seller Krentz deftly mingles chilling danger and simmering sexual tension. John Charles

One of the author's earlier novel, now republished. It is the sotory of a woman who survived the killing of her parents when she was child, who comes home to confront the mistery of who murdered her parents and why. Another mystery confronts her. Why is she so drawn to the Lodge owner? Pretty good.
