Lilith came home after an exhausting school day. She decided to turn on the television to catch the news. When she turned on the television she was shocked to discover that a bus full of convicts had overturned on the highway near her apartment building. The police had thoroughly canvassed Emerald Heights which happened to be her neighborhood.

It had been a very long day and she had missed lunch. Lilith scurried to the refrigerator to look for something to eat. As she bent over to look at the bottom shelves, she noticed something red dripping on the crisper bin. She reached for the dipping item on the shelf above it and realized it was a bloody cleaver. Just then someone shoved her from behind. She quickly stood up and gasped in horror.

Sunday morning her alarm clock went off as usual at 8:00. Sundays she slept in since she did not have classes, and mass was not until 10:00. This particular Sunday she woke up screaming. It all seemed so real, the bloody knife, someone shoving her, and the gut-wrenching fear she still felt in her stomach. She sat there for a while trying to figure out what was real and what was not. She slowly got out of bead and checked every room for someone hiding. Slowly she made her way to the refrigerator. She could still feel the hand on her back that shoved her. She cautiously opened the refrigerator afraid of what she might find. She breathed a sigh of relief to see that the knife was not in there. She suddenly realized she was standing on something wet and sticky. As her eyes met with the red puddle on the floor, she let out a scream “Oh my. . . .”

Good story, but I think it would be cooler if it was longer.
