I have never read a book that was so tension filled, in a interesting way, like this. Maybe because you know it is true and the author makes you feel like you are on that boat, or in that plane or chopper, but the tension just builds and builds. I had to take a break after each short story and walk around and digest what i had just "went thru". The ocean is one heck of a hard way to make a living, tv shows do not even do these people justice. I do not believe i could have a loved one on the sea in Alaska fishing everyday and live to worry everyday, i am not that strong. These are strong women--even stronger men. Highly reccommended read. Excellent, I have now order all Mr Walkers books.

Totally engrossing read from page one, loved it! Made my commute seem so much shorter (I read on the bus). Amazing collection of stories of courage and loss. I can't wait to read more of Spike Walker's books.
