Well, according to the rules, you're supposed to be over 18 to use the site. So, according to PBS policy, the answer would be no.

I thought it would be okay if I didn't let them on the site but did it for them ? HMMMMMMMM . I know several people have accounts for their kids. I just wanted to be sure. Thanks.

I think some people use their own accounts to get credits to get the books their kids are asking for.  I would get them to list what books they want and then you could use credits to get them books that way.  Maybe get them to do chores or something extra to earn the books.

But having an account for them, not allowed.

You can always post their books to your account and, when one goes out and is received, tell them they can use that credit to request another book.  They only get to request when one of their books gets requested.  You can always start a notebook to help the kids keep track of the # of credits they get so they can see how it works.

Good idea Ginger. I did take off a wl book of mine and add one of theirs. Everytime I post one of their books they get to put a book on my wish list. I think that's fair.

I just forward the PBS emails to the family member that it applies to.   But I handle the account myself.  So family members know thier book status as far as requests and wish lists.  And you can search for books without being logged in.

I have my own account n hubby has his own too but we do list the kids books on both accounts n sometimes let them get on here n look n order on their own, I give them a credit limit (used to be 3 but now Im credit poor lol so now I just tell them LOOK but do not order without asking me!.)  I guess thats allowed?  My only problem is they give me books to post & then decide that they want to keep them lol.  So thats a pain in my booty, I dont ever post books unless Im 100% trading them so my kids being wishy-washy bugs me!

oh n when I said we list on both accts, I mean he gets a few books n I get others.  We dont like list the same books on each acct!

Also I think PBS only allows 2 accounts per household anyway.

I would just do what the others said and post and order books for them on your account.  That's what I do with my daughter.  If she wants to order a book she needs to come up with one she can post.

That's what we do, too.  Though one time, I stole his posted stack of books.  Oops!  He got a request for one and couldn't find it.  I think I took it to a garage sale, but I may have stolen them and posted them here.
