Poking around on the shelves I found a 1961 translation of this historical novel from The Philippines. It has an introduction by James Michener that also constitutes a rave review.

Anyone know anything about this book?

All I know is that it  is a huge book, and is billed as "THE" masterpiece of Filipino literature. I've never read it, nor known anybody who has. Which is not to say it isn't terrific.  If you read it, let us know what you think. I have so much on my TBR pile, I'm reluctant to start such a big book despite the fact it sounds interesting.

The 1961 translation is a mere 400 pages. And my curiosity already has the best of me. Will report to all, eventually.smiley
