I love paranormals, but lately it seems that they are all vampire series.  I typically share my books with my 60 yr old Mom (who, thanks to me loves paranormals too) but she can't stand vampires.  Anybody have any suggestions?  She already has the Aisling Grey series from Katie McCalister, and the Accidental Witch series by Blair.

I like the Dead series by Casey Daniels.  Kind of comedial paranormal.  She sees ghosts.

Or the Dead or Ghoul series by Victoria Laurie.  Kind of ghostly mysteries.

The Demon series by Julie Kenner

Terri Gareys series

Tate Halloways Dead series about a witch.

Definitely Jean Johnson's Sons of Destiny series.

Nalini Singh's Psy-Changeling series.

Lori Handeland & Rebecca York's werewolve series.

Shelly Laurenston writes very funny shapeshifters.  Also Dragon books as G. A. Aiken

Nalini Singh Psy series is my favorite.  Jean Johnson's are light and fun,, and I love Shelly Laurenston's dragons and feisty heroines.

More fantasy, there is C. L. Wilson's series - Lord of the Fading Lands first book, Fae and magic, Fae who shifts into a flying Tairen.  Robin Owen's  - Heart series, pyschics settled on planet, with a caste system depending on the level of their powers, and her Guardian series.

Laurell has a real good series out about fairies, demons, humans and etc.  The first book is  A  Kiss Of Shadows.  I have read 3 and have 3 more to go.  I'm tired of vamps too!!!   The Crimson City series isn't too bad.  There are vamps in it but a lot of other critters also.  Several authors write that series.  Good luck!!!!

Here are some other authors with series you might want to check out:

Karen Chance, Larissa Ione, Dakota Cassidy, ILona Andrews, Kim Harrison, Jim Butcher, Keri Arthur, Kelley Armstrong, Angie Fox, Kresley Cole, Marjorie M Liu, Lora Leigh, Yasmine Galenorn, Jennifer St. Giles, Rhonda Thompson, Richelle Mead and Vicki Lewis Thompson.

Vampires are featured in some of these books but the series is not centered solely on them. Happy reading!

Karen Marie Moning's Highlanders series. If you haven't read these you don't know what you're missing! (I'd suggest reading them in order)

I like the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs.  The first book is Moon Called.

And also, Jeaniene Frost has a series that is great - Night Huntress - first book is Halfway to the Grave.
