"Non-zero" refers to the concept of "zero-sum" games...in other words, games in which someone loses in order for someone else to win. Wright's contention is that on a global scale, humanity is engaged in a non-zero-sum game (in which all parties benefit). "Sweeping and witty," the back says (and I agree). Bill Clinton said that it was "astonishing," "fascinating" and instructed White House staff members to read it.

Also from the back: "...sheds new light on ancient debates about whether humankind is part of some grand, unfolding purpose."

Did you know that the Native Americans already had sophisticated trading society long before the Europeans set foot here?
Our civilization is a side effect to our behavior and we are bound to even more. We are bound to explore the universe with our cumulative knowledge.
This author proves it with his observations of game theory. Hence the name of the book, non-zero means a game in which every player wins.
This book will make you say wow more than once.
